The UK government recommends acupuncture instead of Ibuprofen for Chronic Pain

It's been a long time, living in a very different way. Hopefully we have had the opportunity to better understand and live with ourselves and our loved ones, but it has been a stressful experience, tolerating mental and physical discomfort and even pain.

We are open again, and look forward to seeing you!

Your safety is our absolute priority and in this we are guided by recommendations laid down by the British Acupuncture Council and the Professional Standards Authority.

I have used my previous career as a dentist to work with dentists at the Royal Society of Medicine to develop the safest possible clinical procedures.

The UK government recommends acupuncture instead of Ibuprofen for Chronic Pain

The National Institute for Health and Care Excelence (NICE), an executive agency of the UK Department of Health, has issued draft guidelines on the Assessment and Management of Chronic Pain which is based on a review of 32 Randomised Clinical Trials. The reviewing committee considered that the evidence base was large enough to justify a recommendation, and therefore agreed to recommend the use of acupuncture in clinical practice for people with chronic primary pain.

Traditional Acupuncture uses subtle diagnostic techniques that have been developed and refined for millennia as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The focus is on the individual, not their illness, and the underlying principle of treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body's qi, or vital energy, cannot flow freely. By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, it is possible to re-establish the free flow of qi to restore balance and trigger the body's natural healing response.

Fu Needle

This is a recently invented treatment which is particularly effective for rapid local pain relief. Needles are inserted just under the skin, close to the pain centre, where there are no nerves, so sensation is minimal, and the pain relief most effective

Acu-Spirit

Acu-Spirit or Pulse Regulation is a classical acupuncture technique which uses ancient principles to manage the flow of Qi or energy in the body through highly sensitive diagnosis using six pulse points. A small number of very fine needles are used to attain specific pulse effects This is particularly effective for relaxation and relief of depression along with associated physical conditions.
