Traditional Acupuncture uses subtle diagnostic techniques that have been developed and refined for millennia as part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The focus is on the individual, not their illness, and the underlying principle of treatment is that illness and pain occur when the body's qi, or vital energy, cannot flow freely. By inserting ultra-fine sterile needles into specific acupuncture points, it is possible to re-establish the free flow of qi to restore balance and trigger the body's natural healing response.
The sympathetic and holistic approach to treatment enables the body to perform at it's very best at critical times, as when receiving In Vitro Fertilisation. A tailored programme of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine is used in preparation for the IVF treatment and to follow it up to maximum effect.
Chinese Herbal Medicine, along with the other components of Chinese medicine, is based on the concepts of Yin and Yang. It aims to understand and treat the many ways in which the fundamental balance and harmony between the two may be undermined and the ways in which a person's Qi or vitality may be depleted or blocked. Clinical strategies are based upon diagnosis of patterns of signs and symptoms that reflect an imbalance
This is a recently invented treatment which is particularly effective for rapid local pain relief. Needles are inserted just under the skin, close to the pain centre, where there are no nerves, so sensation is minimal, and the pain relief most effective
Acu-Spirit or Pulse Regulation is a classical acupuncture technique which uses ancient principles to manage the flow of Qi or energy in the body through highly sensitive diagnosis using six pulse points. A small number of very fine needles are used to attain specific pulse effects This is particularly effective for relaxation and relief of depression along with associated physical conditions.
